Just a quick recommendation. The latest studio album of one my favourite Italian musicians is finally available on iTunes US: Buon Sangue by Jovanotti. While retaining some of the "Italian charm" Lorenzo managed to cross quite a few mental and musical borders, playing a very appealing blend (to me at least) of Pop/Rap/Funk/Rock/World music. Purely positive enegry. If you ever get a chance to see the "Buon Sangue live" DVD, that is really awesome! Go check out some music...

Bananafishbones: When You Pass By

-

Here's the latest album of my favourite local band, the Bananafishbones. They are from the beautiful city of Bad Tölz, which is about an hour away from Oberhaching, where I live.

For me these guys play the perfect blend of Pop, Rock, Indie, Country and more with lots of fun added. Sometimes really weird lyrics add the final touch. The new album takes a couple of runs to really enjoy and IMHO the previews on iTunes don't do justice to the songs. If you rather care for Rock listen to "Hypocrite" and "Godspeed" is a fine Pop song while "Into the Sea" gives you a glimpse of the fun. I'm looking forward to hearing that song live.

Get the album while it's hot, the CD won't be out before March, 9th of 2007, even though iTunes lists it as 2006. And, luckily it's available at least on iTunes DE and US.

That Beautiful Sadness

-

Cover - Mark Isham: Blue SunBlending together nicely with the current weather I wanted to post a link to one of my all-time favourite Jazz records: Blue Sun by Mark Isham. Even though Mark thanks L. Ron Hubbard in the liner notes I can't resist falling in love with the music every time I hear it. Every single note seems to be thoughtfully placed while still being improvised and guided by emotion. Of course, the music also reminds me of the great time I had in Atlanta during winter 95/96. Check out "That Beautiful Sadness" or "In a Sentimental Mood" on iTunes. Mark Isham - Blue Sun
